About Providence
This is news about Providence-UK.com, the goings on at our shop in Barton, and what’s in the works at our workshop in Cambridge (England). We’re cabinetmakers and sell cabinet fittings, Shaker knobs or drawers pulls, homeware, baskets and braided rugs (some from New England) and paint – our own Providence Paint.
Providence – makers & shakers – has been trading for more than 15 years and has had a shop at Burwash Manor for 12 years. We’re cabinetmakers with a Shaker influence – sorry about the bad play on words. Also, we mix paint and have a hugely important shaker for suspending colourant in the paint tins.
Why Providence?
Providence, R.I. was founded by a religious
freedom seeker named Rodger Williams in
1654. In Providence, on the stage of a
fantastic theatre (Trinity Repertory
Company) Kathy met Tim. Somewhere
along the way they decided to bring a little
bit of New England to Cambridge…..
Providence the shop was born.

I am looking for some Shaker type knobs for an old cupboard I recently bought and I saw on your website that you might have some in your collection. I was not able to find a picture of the knobs you have, on your website. Would it be possible for you to email me a photo?
I would be interested in buying 14 of them and getting them sent to my address.

Hi, yes we do sell Shaker knobs. We have them in a few different sizes, and they are available in Maple, Oak, Cherry, and Walnut wood. We can email you a pictures if you like.
